EAPs are designed to cover a wide range of employee needs, usually with short-term counseling and referral services. Empathy focuses on grief and loss, support, caregiving, and end-of-life planning. We combine 24/7 access to trained Care Managers who help navigate complex tasks like probate, account closures, and estate planning. Empathy complements, rather than replaces, an EAP offering specialized depth when employees need it most.

How quickly can employees get support?

Employees and their families can connect with Empathy immediately through the app or by speaking directly with a Care Manager, available 24/7. Users can reach our 24/7 chat support in under 3 minutes. The first assessment call with a dedicated Care manager is 2 - 4 days on average, and chat+email is also available. Each Care Manager supports 56 families monthly, ensuring responsiveness and individualized care.

Who is eligible to use Empathy? Are there usage limits?

Coverage includes employees and up to 5 family members. Support is unlimited; employees can access our services as often as they need, without restrictions or hidden fees.

How is employee information kept safe and private?

All data is protected with enterprise-grade encryption and strict privacy controls. Empathy is SOC 2 compliant; information is never shared with employers or third parties without consent. Safeguarding sensitive information is one of our highest priorities. We store and transmit data using bank-level 256-bit encryption and protect accounts with two-factor authentication and a personal PIN.
